E71 vs TyTNII….. Fight..

30 Jul

E71vs

So I have been a Windows mobile user for years now, before that I was a Palm user and I love both interfaces. As regular readers will know I am planning on getting a Palm Pre when it is released over here in the UK, however before that I thought I would do an experiment. I recently bought an E71 to use on a second number and since using it I have really grown to like the interface and the way it works. So, on Saturday last week I migrated from my main device the HTC TyTNII to the E71, I plan on seeing if I can get it to do everything I do on my Windows Mobile device and become a successful replacement.

Now my TyTN was by no means perfect, in fact I spent a good deal of money on customising it (and I mean a lot of money). As a result I will be using that criteria as one of the gauges of how effective the switch has been. Also I need the E71 to be able to do everything I regularly do on my TyTN, I am not restricting this to the stock applications and feature of the phone I am more than willing to find and use 3rd party apps. I will compile a full report at the end of August (giving me 4 weeks testing and one week to sum up the switch) which, I will post on here.

I am quite excited to see if this device can cope and do everything I need it too but only time will tell that. Stay posted for more sneak peaks into the final posting. Also watch Twitter for random updates of the experiment!

Quite a Strange Feeling

23 Jul

So today was the 1st time I logged into my WordPress admin Console in 1 month and 12 days. It was a bit of a surreal feeling to be honest. I have been regretting not blogging but just not had the time or energy to do it. With my current and soon to be ending job Tech and Geekery had fallen right down my list of priorities. To add to that I have been moving house as well and that’s taken quite some time to get sorted. However now I am leaving my current job and am moving back into the tech field for work. I am going to be working for an ISP in the UK so that should get me back on track and also allow me blog more (hours are more respectable). I also will no longer have to work all weekends which is something I have missed so much.

Right enough of the personal stuff. I am back now and properly hanging around. Tech posts are due.
