The Man Flu Worsens

29 Sep

Ok so I am getting worse! My throat feels like I have swallowed a bunch of razor blades, my nose is running faster than Asafa Powell and my head is all foggy and unclear! Oh well that’s just a small part of what we call “Man Flu” it can be soo debilitating and draining if anyone wants to come feed me chicken noodle soup in bed (please no men just nice pretty ladies) that’s would be lovely :) oh well! I have a lecture at 11, just the one today then free for the rest of it!
Oh yeah and I got told of for yesterdays post. My friend Lorrae who is living in the same halls as me was most annoyed when I didn’t mention the fact she helped me move in my stuff on Sunday from the car! So Lorrae “THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH” she’s a star!!!!!!!!
Right I need a shower etc etc before I am off to Uni

28 Sep

Hey Guys,
Totally Über sorry about the lack of posts! My internet connection has been less than Ideal for the past 5 days and with me moving back to University and trying to get things sorted (my course at the beginning of the week was all F***ed up) I have been unable to get an entry posted! So a million apologies to you all! So what has been happening hmmm…. Moving in went fine, pretty much perfect actually, the halls and my flat mates are totally wicked! There is myself, Claire, Ollie, Nicola, James and Will in the flat and also my mate Matt who we seem to have adopted as the flat pet. (he doesn’t live here, though I wouldn’t blame anyone who thought he did (will he ever go home?)). Uni’s not changed though the city itself has! Lots of new buildings and other stuff so that’s all very cool! It was good to meet up with all the guys and gals here again, after a year of not seeing each other we had a lot of drinking time to catch up on which we all did on the Sunday night! Leadmill was the venue for this reunion and well the less said about the night the better but I can say that the floor is made of the nicest wood as I seemed to end up lying on it a few to many times :P ! Monday was spent recovering and doing sweet FA but Tuesday was back out on the booze again! The venue this time – Flares. Had a good night (not as drunken as Sunday though) met a really crazy bloke who just called himself “Daddy Cool” I will post a pic of him when I grab Matt’s phone and upload it to my PC!

The Rest of the week has been chillin going to lectures and developing our flats website – yes our flat has a website! www.24charlottecourt.com each week we post a new question on the site (and in our flat window) and get people to come and answer it! This weeks question “What is denim made of” go to the page and comment on the blog entry and you “could” win a prize!!! The site is run by me and Matt and the contents comes from all the flat members! Check out the pictures of us all!!!

What else: Well over today I have developed a cold and now feel like S**TE but that can’t be helped, I’ve loaded up on the Lemsip and Neurofen and I am getting an early night tonight (he says writing this at 10:45pm) but if anyone asks it’s Man flu and it’s worse than getting hit buy a bus so “LEAVE IT OUT” :) I have one lecture tomorrow at 10am then town are playing Colchester at 19:45 so I have 9 hours 45 mins to find something to do - I was planning maybe going to the pub to watch the match but if I go 9 hours before I might not see the game just the floor so if anyone has an idea of what I can do for 9 hours tomorrow please let me know!

Right I’m ending here as I need a shower and my bed (this man flu is killing me :( )

Bye for now! I’ll be posting tomorrow PROMISE!!

hmmmm…

22 Sep

Afternoon folks! This is an entry I sent from my mobile phone! I a) =
wanted to test it before I left for uni tomorrow and b) wanted to post a =
bit about the Ryder Cup which is going on at the moment. The tournament =
is really close at the moment with Europe leading 4 to 2 with 2 matches =
still going! I have been listening to the commentary all day (alas I do =
not have Sky so I cannot watch) and well all I can say is I wish I was =
there. Anyway I am just in the process of packing up all my PC equipment =
so if posting is less frequent over the next few days I apologise but if =
this has worked there shouldn’t be any less posts than usual! Right must =

Who's White and Nerdy?

22 Sep

I Saw this and after laughing for a good 2 mins I stopped and though I just HAD to share it!! :) :)

It’s Weird Al Yankovic’s New Song! White and Nerdy!

Restaurants, Space and Hacking – Not all together though!

21 Sep

The Shuttle landed successfully today at 11.21 bst ending a really good mission for NASA in the effort to finish the ISS (International Space Station). It was neat watching the landing, you got live video from the front of the shuttle as it came in, and with it being a night landing the runway was all lit up like the Las Vegas strip (well not quite as bright).

Dinner last night was good. The restaurant, which is new in my village was lovely, really well decorated and very stylish! The only thing was the atmosphere which though the restaurant was probably 1/3 full was not as “buzzing” as you would expect. I guess as the place is new it’s not yet obtained an atmosphere as such, in all honesty I don’t know I’m not a restaurant critic! Oh and the car thing i mentioned! I won’t go into all the details but basically the back lights all went potty last night so once we got home, there was Dad and I taking the car apart at 10pm under floodlight to find the problem! We had it fixed by 11 and I was asleep by 11:30!

Not a lot else happened today! I continued to pack for uni though when I say pack I mean I sorted a few bits of papers into piles – tomorrow might be a bit hectic! Oh and the other thing I did today was spend 8 hrs trying to hack into my old workplaces computer systems! Now before you all rush off to phone the police, this was legal hacking (though by definition it I am not sure I can call it hacking!) Anyway my old firm has employed me to see if I can hack into their systems. Because if I can’t (I know that system better than anyone because i practically built it) then no one can get in!  – I can’t tell you what happened here but I will say it was a lot of fun to attempt to get in!

Right it’s late and I need to get to sleep!

Night all!!

A Sad Day

21 Sep

Richard HammondSo for those of you who have not heard, Richard Hammond, presenter of BBC’s top gear has been involved in a 300mph crash, whilst driving a jet powered dragster. I am not going into all the details, that is for the news agencies to do but I will say;  – Richard and your family, my heart, thoughts and prayers are with you, get well soon. Top Gear would not be the same without your hysterical sense of humor and your whitened teeth!

UPDATE: Richards’ condition has “improved” over night but he still remains critically ill. His wife and co-presenters are at his bedside and Jeremy Clarkson said:

“I would just like to say how heartened Richard will be when I tell him just how many motorists and truck drivers on my way here wound down their windows to say they were rooting for him. Both James and I are looking forward to getting our Hamster back.”

Carling Cup Mayhem

20 Sep

Well well well, so tonight (and last night) saw some major teams go out of the Carling cup!! Derby were beaten by Doncaster, Wycombe beat Fulham, Middlesborough lost to Nott’s County and Wigan were mauled by Crewe! Ok ok I know it’s only the Carling cup, which seems to have lost all importance to most teams, but still always good to see some giant or at least semi giant killings! Maybe just maybe this year a lower league team might get to lift that trophy! Anyone for a fiver on Chesterfield?? They just knocked Man City out! Oh well – Congrats to all those teams!

Dinner was good – I’ll tell all tomorrow! Lastly DON’T buy a Land Rover Freelander just spent an hour and a half in the dark fixing the brake light systems!!!!! I’ll leave you in suspense till tomorrow to find out why!

Night all!!

She's a comin' home

20 Sep

NASA have just announced that the Shuttle will land tomorrow with the first window of oppertunity being at 6.21 edt (11.21 bst) Everything checked out ok with the floating debris and the shuttle is in “good shape”

As you might have worked out I am not at jury service today. They didn’t call yesterday so they didn’t need me. Actually as it’s now 6.05pm I guess they don’t need me tomorrow either! Oh well, bargain, more time to work on my business and get ready for the long trek back to University. Yes folks lil’ ole me is off back to the student lifestyle this Sunday! Anyone who is in Sheffield and fancies meeting up send me an e-mail and we can arrange something!

That’s all for now I am off out for dinner with my folks soon (it was their anniversary yesterday and with me leaving they want to celebrate both things! (I do drive them nuts)) so dad’s booked somewhere – I’ll report back tomorrow with the details!!

Rightio I’m off oh but here is a picture I thought was cool!!

Lost in Space

20 Sep

Ok so they aren’t lost in fact they are at the moment floating over India! but they aren’t coming back today :( due to weather and the fact they spotted an object floating around the earth in time with thier orbit, they have delayed the landing till tomorrow at 6.21 edt (11.21 bst). The object is causing them some headaches at the mo, because it’s unidentified (yes it is a UFO) they cannot tell if it is just say a piece of ice or something more important from the shuttle! So now they are checking the structural integrity of the shuttle again!!

Here is a quote

The STS-115 crew completed scheduled inspections of Space Shuttle Atlantis’ heat shield this morning. The astronauts used cameras on the shuttle’s robotic arm to conduct the scans.

Imagery specialists and engineers are reviewing the data from today’s inspection and from previous activities to see if focused inspections with the orbiter boom sensor system are necessary.

For a better explanation of what I have just said watch this video!

Oh and now the shuttle is over Mexico! Fast isn’t it!!
